After leaving New York City to explore greener pastures, towing all of his belongings behind him in a U-Haul truck, Barnes found himself in Oregon's Wallowa Mountains, where he encountered the subjects that inspired his next project. Living amongst them and adopting the "redneck" lifestyle, Barnes created the series of black and white photographic, documentary-style portraits that make up Redneck Roundup.
